Pop-up Disney

Pop-up Disney – at Disneyland – is full of different Mickey themed rooms where you can take as many photos with all the different backgrounds. Each room you are given a bit of time to explore before they usher you the next room.

Pop-up is a large and exciting experience. First you enter the “waiting room”. You can listen to music on a pair of Beats 90th anniversary Mickey headphones. There is a large selection of songs from parades. A huge flat screen TV plays Mickey Mouse cartoons on one of the walls. The chairs are shaped like Mickey heads. On the wall in between the TV and music zone has a painting of Mickey’s feet and legs. On the far wall is a map of the upper layer. The map is shaped like Mickey’s head.

When you are called to begin journey, you take a flight of stairs. Clouds line the walls with a hidden Mickey. The next room is the love room. One wall contains yellow bows (some painted on some 3D). The next is filled with frames with pictures of Mickey and Minnie inside. After that are many, many hearts floating towards a giant sequin (non-flippable) heart. A large polka-dot bow seat is on the far wall.

The next room is Steam Boat Willy themed. This room is black, white and grey. A dock with characters half-fills a wall. On the rest is a ships wheel. A airplane is there to pose with next to the far wall. The last wall is filled with plush Steam Boat Willy Mickeys.

After that is the art room that contains art made by Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, and Donald. The hallway is lit with a purple light and water designs on the walls (think “Sorcerer’s Apprentice / Fantasia”). The next area has a dragon and stars. After that is the world travel room with a Coco and Mulan type of areas. A hallway with mirrors and Mickey hats leads you to a room full of light up ear hats and a sliver Mickey.

Then there is the Mickey shaped balloon room. It has a giant mickey head balloon you can stand in or in front of. There are two corners filled with colorful Mickey shaped balloons. Then there is a couple of mickey shaped foods on the wall. Followed by a wall that has a Mickey head made of roses and they project different images on it. Finally there is a ‘see ya real soon’ wall that leads to a black velvet Mickey.
